Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

HOTCH - Hotch is the freckled face boy of the group. He is 5 months old and weighs 12 pounds. He is some sort of terrier mix and may end up being a mini lab. He will probably not get any bigger than 25 pounds as an adult. I rescued this trio from ACS, a very high-kill shelter when they were just babies. Someone spotted them on the side of a freeway in a box baking in the heat, they were very tiny babies. No mother in sight. They have been in my home being spoiled and well cared for. But they are independent good babies who would make great companions as a family pet or for a single person. His brother Derrick and sister J.J. are ... (Read More)also available for adoption. Hotch is a typical puppy, he eats, sleeps, plays with his toys and likes to get some love from his human. He is active but not hyper. He would love to have someone to hang out with and likes bigger dogs. Hotch is the brave adventurous one of the group. He doesn't get into any trouble but he likes snooping around to see what is new in the house or outside. (Less)

J.J. -- J.J. is the only girl of the group. And with her being the only girl, she tries to boss her brother around!!! As you can see she is also the smallest of the group. Her 2 brothers, Hotch & Derrick are also available for adoption. J.J. is 5 months old and weighs 8 pounds, she will probably remain a small dog as an adult. We have them listed as Terrier / Labrador Retriever mix although they will be very small adults. And their personality is not that of a terrier, they are not hyper at all. All 3 pups were found in a box on the side of the freeway and turned into ACS - a high kill shelter. I brought them home when they were just ... (Read More)babies, 4 weeks old and so very tiny. J.J. is truly a girly girl, likes to be held and cuddled. But she is very playful with humans and the other dogs. J.J. is a low maintenance dog, very smart, she catches on very fast to her training. If you want a cuddly companion, J.J. is your girl. She is fine with other dogs, even much bigger ones. She is crate trained and potty trained and would make a great first pet for any kid and a loving companion for a single person or a couple. She is not a barker so she would do fine in an apartment.     DERRICK - Derrick is 5 months old and weighs 10 pounds. These pups are small and will probably be a small-medium size as an adult. They are more some sort of Terrier than Labrador Retriever. They were extremely small as babies. I save them from ACS after they had been thrown on the side of the freeway in a box in the heat. They were about 4 weeks old when I brought them home. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is Mr Paco Taco! Mr Paco was recently rescued from under a Taco Truck in a not so good part of town. We had seen him whilst out there on another mission we promised him that we would go back but it took us a while. Much to our delight he was still there at that same busy corner when we finally were able to go look for him again. He had obviously been well fed by the Taco Truck cook in that time as he now weighs almost 24 pounds on those short little legs. For 2 days he refused to eat any dog food but now has resigned himself to the fact that he is going to have to eat better if he wants to lose weight. His diet now consists of dog food ... (Read More)and green beans. He is a typical terrier in that he is alert and inquisitive and a lot of fun. He will make a great companion for someone who understands the independent quirkiness of these little terrier breeds. He seems to get along with other dogs and wants to play and he loves his walks!! Paco is now following us around and usually by my side. If you think that you would be interested in him please fill out an adoption application online at www.forgottendogs.org/adoption_application or contact his foster mom at fudgiesmom2@aol.com. My foster mom says I am house trained and crate trained. I impress my foster mom with my puppy manners, and know how to sit, lay down, and roll over on command. I also potty and get in my crate when asked, she says I am amazing. I stay in the bed all night and do not get up until I hear our foster mom's alarm. When I hear the alarm I know she's waking up. Rescue Me ID: 14-05-13-00295Macy Ann (female)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, it's me Macy! You may remember me from my previous roles in Macy the Tiny Abandoned Puppy or Macy the Mangy Puppy. Well, I am ready for bigger and better things. I am ready to be your co-star! It is true that I was abanonded as a tiny little puppy just before the big freeze at the end of January. I weighed only 4 lbs and was very sick. They wrapped me in a sheet and left me in a cul-de-sac to die. But a kind person found me and gave me to a sweet foster mama. I would love to stay with her forever, but Foster Mama says I deserve a family of my own who will spoil me rotten (and that sounds good to me!). Now that I am bigger -- dare I say ... (Read More)fully grown now??? -- and feeling so much healthier, I have to agree with her. I love being in a family. I play really well with all the other dogs, but I will also stand up for myself if they try to bully me. I love to chase the cats but will stop when you call me by my full name, Macy Ann--I know that means business! I love kids and I learned 'sit' really well so I know I will learn my other manners quickly too. For instance, I know that the grass is where we piddle, but sometimes I can't make it to the door but I am working really hard on that one and doing better. In the meantime, I will sleep in my crate all on my own and sleep all night with no problem. I am very smart and will pick up the rules of the house and new tricks quickly. I really want to please people and have them like me. I have a lot of energy and love to play, but I also like to cuddle and will play with toys on my own, too! I would love a home with kids or other dogs to play with, but I would be happy with just you, too. My next major role has your name written all over it: Macy Gets A Forever Family. Macy is a Terrier mix who is around 7 months old and about 22 lbs. (Less)

I also potty and get in my crate when asked, she says I am amazing. I stay in the bed all night and do not get up until I hear our foster mom's alarm. When I hear the alarm I know she's waking up. I wait just outside the bedroom door even though the door the door is open so I don't disturb the sleeping ... (Read More)kitties in the room, my tail wagging like crazy to greet my foster mom. We are so eager to please. Sometimes I can be shy with new people, but once I get some ear scratches and cuddles, I will love and trust you forever. I get along great with the foster kitties. I try to play with the kitties and my foster mom is so happy how gentle I am with the kitties. I also get along great with other dogs too. I love to go on walks. Everyone is very impressed with my leash manners. I am very friendly, playful, and so cute! If you would like to meet me, please contact info@redcollar.org. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Fox Terrier in Texas
Fox Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Fox Terriers have been around for centuries and have been bred to produce a number of different types of dogs. Today, Fox Terrier generally refers to either a Smooth or Wire-haired variety, which are virtually identical with the exception of their coats. Fox Terriers are playful, affectionate, scrappy little dogs. Fox Terriers get along well with children and can typically be socialized to interact well with other dogs, although they have been known to pick fights with much larger canines. Fox Terriers may hunt non-canine pets, especially birds. This breed needs plenty of exercise and should be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard because of its tendency to chase and explore. Fox Terriers can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
