Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Hi All, My name is Chula, which means 'cute or pretty' and I think that name fits me just perfect!! You can tell how cute I am from my pictures...but just wait till you see me in person!! I am about 2 years young and 25 lbs. I am house-trained and crate-trained and a perfect little lady. (You will probably giggle out load when you see me sit like a person. Haha!) My foster mom says I am very sweet and well behaved. I just adore getting my belly rubbed and being spoiled. I would love to have a home and a human of my very own. I will be your best friend forever and never leave your side. I had a home at one time, but somehow got ... (Read More)lost and found myself at the city pound...not a place you want to be! Luckily Red Collar Rescue heard my 'time was up' and rushed to get me to safety. Now I am waiting for my next step...my forever family. Please email info@redcollar.org for more information on how to adopt me! Age: 2 yr Weight: 25 lbs Dogs? is ok with small quiet dogs Cats? no Kids? ok Chula is being fostered in HOUSTON, TX. Chula is available for local and out-of-state adoptions. The adoption fee for local adoptions is $200. The fee for out-of-state adoptions is $550, which includes the adoption fee, airfare, crate, and health certificate. RCR will take care of scheduling the plane reservation. Why should you consider adopting a dog from Houston? Houston is the #2 kill city in the U.S. City and County shelters often take in a combined 200-300 animals per day. The number of homeless pets and resulting euthanasias are staggering -- the average 'live release rate' from Houston area shelters is only about 35-50%. Houston is estimated to have over 1 million homeless animals. Over 100,000 are killed in Harris Co shelters every year. Red Collar Rescue volunteers work tirelessly to save as many as we can, but the Houston area is saturated with so many pets in need of a home and not enough adopters. To put it simply, we encourage out of state adoptions because it helps us save more lives. We hope that you will consider one of our many adoptable pets who are waiting for a second chance at a forever home - wherever it may be! (Less)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dilly is a sweet Chi/terrior mix that loves to play with her foster brothers and sisters. She is very shy when it comes to humans (probably due to something bad happening to her in her past). She needs a very patient, loving family, with other four legged friends to help her come out of her shell. Once she warms up to you, the rewards are even greater! If you are looking for a forever family member that will be happy curling up on the couch and watching tv with you or playing with her fur brothers and sisters, please consider adopting Dilly. Heartworm negative, house broken, up to date on all her shots and good with cats and dogs. I ... Thankfully a SNIPSA foster picked him up knowing he would be the perfect SNIPSA dog!     Laverne is a cuddle bug and would make a wonderful companion dog. She really enjoys naps and being near her person. She also likes to go outside for romps and is playful with other dogs. We rescued her and her six puppies after they were dumped on a country road. Her friend, Shirley, was rescued as well. Laverne is an easy dog that is on the submissive side and will make a lovely friend for some lucky family. We are currently doing slow kill HW treatment as she was light positive.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Fox Terrier in Texas
Fox Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Fox Terriers have been around for centuries and have been bred to produce a number of different types of dogs. Today, Fox Terrier generally refers to either a Smooth or Wire-haired variety, which are virtually identical with the exception of their coats. Fox Terriers are playful, affectionate, scrappy little dogs. Fox Terriers get along well with children and can typically be socialized to interact well with other dogs, although they have been known to pick fights with much larger canines. Fox Terriers may hunt non-canine pets, especially birds. This breed needs plenty of exercise and should be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard because of its tendency to chase and explore. Fox Terriers can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
