Rescue Me ID: 17-11-16-00091Kallinda (female)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Kallinda is super shy. We do not know her history but we know her future. We'll find her a loving, gentle home that gives her time to learn to trust. She's ... (Read More)about 18 months old and weighs 15 lbs. Kallinda is a fox terrier/rat terrier mix. We will update her bio as we get to know her better. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/k9_angels_rescue_application_to_adopt.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. (Less)

Houdini was born on 06/21/17, we believe he is a Yorkie/Fox Terrier mix pup, and he currently weighs about 11lbs.%A0 He is a sweet puppy, but very shy. He is crate trained, is working on house%A0training and, in a calm environment without distractions, he will sit for a treat. %A0We believe Houdini will do best in ... (Read More)a calm and structured environment.%A0 He is a bit shy at first and standoffish with strangers, but will warm up then. He would be best in a home without small children, as fast movements seem to scare him. He would benefit from being in a home with another dog to help him learn the ropes. %A0 If you are interested in adding this pup to your family, please click here%A0(or copy and paste http://dfwpuppatrol.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption into your browser) to view our%A0adoption info and where you will find the link to fill out our online Pre-Adoption Application.%A0%A0Any%A0 questions can be directed to us at info@dfwpuppatrol.com. Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Health: Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Harper is an adorable 30 lb Fox Terrier mix, approximately 18 months old. She is house trained, leash trained, and crate trained. Harper tolerates other dogs and cats, she is fine after proper introductions. She ignores the cats in her foster home, and is friends with the kennel residence dogs. She can get intimated and afraid (and defensive) if crowded or quickly approached by dogs she does not know. We do not know if Harper has had any exposure to children, but with her personality, she should be fine with calm children over 7. Harper is a very social little dog, she loves hugs and kisses from her humans. She LOVES sleeping in bed ... (Read More)with her people, watching TV, and laying by the window looking out. Harper is up to date on routine vaccinations and preventatives, and is microchipped. (Read More)EXAM at Banfield - GROOMING COUPONS - over $400 of coupons/savings - and MUCH MORE! We have a two-step adoption process. First, you submit an application, which is presented to our Board for approval or rejection. If approved, a home check is done, and if that passes - you adopt which includes a 1-week trial period, if - for any reason during that first week, the adoption is not working out, you can return the dog for a full refund of your adoption fee. )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))WE NEED FOSTER HOMES FOR ANIMALS! Fosters are the backbone of animal rescue. In most EVERY shelter - in most EVERY county - in most EVERY city - animals are being euthanized (KILLED) daily due to overcrowding - dog - cat - large - small - male - female - puppy - kitten - old - young. We cannot save them without foster homes. APPROXIMATELY ONE OUT OF THREE ANIMALS THAT ENTER A SHELTER IS EUTHANIZED. These healthy sweet pets would have made great companions. Don't know what fostering is? Briefly - it is babysitting an animal until he/she is adopted. FOSTERING IS FREE TO DO! Most rescues cover all expenses for fosters, and anything they do not cover is tax-deductible. If you cannot foster - please ask your friends and family to. If you want more information - Google 'animal fostering.' I'm begging - it's only temporary but lives can't be saved unless people step up - PLEASE - shelters are overflowing - when you foster one animal - you save two lives - the one you foster and the one that gets his/her space in the shelter. If you can/will foster - let me know, I thank you - and the animals thank you! PS - Have you ever dreamed of helping a rescue but don't have the time, space, or just plain don't know what to do? At your pet limit? Allergic? Can't have pets where you live? Well - how about becoming a VIRTUAL FOSTER... You can choose a minimum amount of $10 a month to 'virtually' foster a homeless animal of your choice (of course, a larger sum would be happily accepted and appreciated). What does Virtual Foster mean? Our foster fur babies typically have many veterinary bills, as this is the nature of being rescued. There are also other expenses related to the ongoing care and rehab of fosters. As a Virtual Foster, your donation will go towards the vetting - medical care, and general care of the animal you have chosen. Your donation will go a LONG way in ensuring a foster dog receives the needed care and attention! In return for your kind tax-deductible donation, you will receive a periodic update on the progress of your foster. Once your foster is adopted, you will be notified so that you can choose another animal to virtually foster. If you genuinely cannot adopt or foster, there are still other ways to help. Sponsor an adoption or medical treatment. Volunteer your time - drive for transports, rescue groups always need dogs transported from one place to the next. Donate money, our rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. Educate - spread the word about the need for fosters. Sign up for notifications from your local rescue group or shelter, and share the animals in need on social media, there are so many ways to help - thank you, please share this post (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Fox Terrier in Texas
Fox Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Fox Terriers have been around for centuries and have been bred to produce a number of different types of dogs. Today, Fox Terrier generally refers to either a Smooth or Wire-haired variety, which are virtually identical with the exception of their coats. Fox Terriers are playful, affectionate, scrappy little dogs. Fox Terriers get along well with children and can typically be socialized to interact well with other dogs, although they have been known to pick fights with much larger canines. Fox Terriers may hunt non-canine pets, especially birds. This breed needs plenty of exercise and should be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard because of its tendency to chase and explore. Fox Terriers can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
