Rescue Me ID: 17-09-19-00248Terri (female)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This little cutie was saved from the city shelter. Her sister had been picked up previously because they were allowed to run the streets. Her sister, LuLu, was adopted. We are guessing at her breed. Her sister was short-haired, but Terri has wire hair. Because of that she shouldn't shed much. She is very sweet! She just loves everyone. Considering she's a puppy, she's pretty laid back, not hyper at all. She is going to be a perfect companion to the special family that picks her.

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This puppy was found a little malnourished but is in good health. He is good with my dogs but a little nervous around my cat. He is good with adults but I don't have kids. I would guess he would be good with kids because he is very frendly and laid back around people and animals alike. He has an appointment to be neutered.

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Harper is an adorable 25 lb Fox Terrier mix, approximately 16-18 months old. She is house trained, leash trained, and crate trained. Harper tolerates other dogs and cats, she is fine after proper introductions. She ignores the cats in her foster home, and is friends with one or 2 dogs. She gets intimated and afraid (and defensive) if crowded or quickly approached by dogs she does not know. We do not know if Harper has had any exposure to children, but with her personality, she should be fine with calm children over 7. Harper is a very social little dog, she loves hugs and kisses from her humans. She LOVES sleeping in bed with her ... (Read More)people, watching TV, and laying by the window looking out. Harper is up to date on routine vaccinations and preventatives, and is microchipped. Harper tested positive for heartworms and is on the doxy/advantage multi treatment, and should test negative in Jan/Feb '18 (5-6 mos). Treatment medications will be included with adoption. To apply for adoption, please go to www.southsidestreetdogs.com/applications.html for our online application. Harper will be available for adoption 8/21/17, 10 days after her upcoming spay surgery. Fosters are the backbone of animal rescue. In most EVERY shelter - in most EVERY county - in most EVERY city - animals are being euthanized (KILLED) daily due to overcrowding - dog - cat - large - small - male - female - puppy - kitten - old - young. We cannot save them without foster homes. APPROXIMATELY ONE OUT OF THREE ANIMALS THAT ENTER A SHELTER IS EUTHANIZED. These healthy sweet pets would have made great companions. Don't know what fostering is? Briefly - it is babysitting an animal until he/she is adopted. FOSTERING IS FREE TO DO! Most rescues cover all expenses for fosters, and anything they do not cover is tax-deductible. If you cannot foster - please ask your friends and family to. If you want more information - Google 'animal fostering.' I'm begging - it's only temporary but lives can't be saved unless people step up - PLEASE - shelters are overflowing - when you foster one animal - you save two lives - the one you foster and the one that gets his/her space in the shelter. If you can/will foster - let me know, I thank you - and the animals thank you! PS - Have you ever dreamed of helping a rescue but don't have the time, space, or just plain don't know what to do? At your pet limit? Allergic? Can't have pets where you live? Well - how about becoming a VIRTUAL FOSTER... You can choose a minimum amount of $10 a month to 'virtually' foster a homeless animal of your choice (of course, a larger sum would be happily accepted and appreciated). What does Virtual Foster mean? Our foster fur babies typically have many veterinary bills, as this is the nature of being rescued. There are also other expenses related to the ongoing care and rehab of fosters. As a Virtual Foster, your donation will go towards the vetting - medical care, and general care of the animal you have chosen. Your donation will go a LONG way in ensuring a foster dog receives the needed care and attention! In return for your kind tax-deductible donation, you will receive a periodic update on the progress of your foster. Once your foster is adopted, you will be notified so that you can choose another animal to virtually foster. If you genuinely cannot adopt or foster, there are still other ways to help. Sponsor an adoption or medical treatment. Volunteer your time - drive for transports, rescue groups always need dogs transported from one place to the next. Donate money, our rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. Educate - spread the word about the need for fosters. Sign up for notifications from your local rescue group or shelter, and share the animals in need on social media, there are so many ways to help - thank you, please share this post (Less)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Remy is a sweet female, high energy, strong temper. She listens to adult owners. We rescued her when she was a two month old puppy. She has been at dog school with good results. Extremely athletic and smart. She attacked another dog because the other dog groweled ather. She is highly territorial and she is a great guardian. She also protects kids from other dogs and strangers. I need help to take care of this dog, because she is an only one family dog. I have another dog, its a female lab, and remy used to respect her but latety Remy does not respect her sister and tries to fight with her over food and toys. She gets also very jealous when ... (Read More)I pet her sister. Remy can run a fast speeds, no one will ever reach her. She is at home in her kennel but I am afraid something happens when I am not home and my children are home, when I havent got home from work because I have meetings some times. She chews and digs holes in the backyard and I am afraid she could escape. She is highly demanding of attention and when I take her for a walk, it has to be to a lonely place because she barks at other dogs and tries to pick up fights. Remy is very beautiful, she has brown, black stripes and white spots. White paws. Brindle. She can also jump very high. She can tolerate pain and she would eat anything. She has hunted opposums. She eats mice. This dog needs space and a very active owner, she could fight coyotes, or guard your house. I do not expect any money but a $20 dollar fee would be appreciated. She is loving, and likes to give you kisses. She listens to sit, roll and paw. Remy is middle size, not heavy but strong. An old lady or a girl could not have her. She needs a strong man, body buildren with authority. She obeys men, but she can bite out of being scared. She has never bit any human. She bit a dog's nose one year ago, nothing major, it was a scratch. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Fox Terrier in Texas
Fox Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Fox Terriers have been around for centuries and have been bred to produce a number of different types of dogs. Today, Fox Terrier generally refers to either a Smooth or Wire-haired variety, which are virtually identical with the exception of their coats. Fox Terriers are playful, affectionate, scrappy little dogs. Fox Terriers get along well with children and can typically be socialized to interact well with other dogs, although they have been known to pick fights with much larger canines. Fox Terriers may hunt non-canine pets, especially birds. This breed needs plenty of exercise and should be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard because of its tendency to chase and explore. Fox Terriers can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
