Rescue Me ID: 16-07-19-00043Lincoln (male)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Farfel's Rescue received emails from our Texas rescuer about Lincoln...no one could accept that this very handsome and super-sweet dog was about to be euthanized in Texas. Both the shelter and the rescuers were set on finding a foster, rescue or adopter immediately for this pup. There were several opinions on Lincoln's breed combo but the Cardigan Welsh Corgi was by far the most noted. Lincoln was recognized as having a great personality and this earned him a ticket out of the shelter and a transport to Colorado. Lincoln carries the beautiful markings and body type of the Cardigan Corgi. As beautiful as Lincoln is on the outside, it ... (Read More)doesn't compare with the love and good-will that flows from the heart of this 4 month old and 12 lb puppy. Lincoln is such a people pup...he loves kids of all ages but they must be very gentle and handle him kindly. We envision Lincoln with an active retired couple or individual or a family with older kids who want an adorable and sweet dog as a family member and best companion. He would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his favorite people. Being a puppy, Lincoln loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. He would be a natural in positive reinforcement group obedience classes and agility class. He would love the challenge and is so smart and wanting to please that he would excel. We would never want Lincoln in a situation where he's alone for many long hours. Instead we would love for him to be taken along on hikes (he would be overjoyed and a natural on the trails), adventures and visits with dog-loving friends. He would also be overjoyed to hike along gorgeous Colorado paths..enjoying the sunshine and time with his people. He's almost impossible not to fall in love with. Lincoln is a blank slate just waiting for direction to be the best adult dog he can be. If interested in this sweet and fun-loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Hi. I'm Bailey. Hey, am I cute or what? I was a stray wondering on the streets. I've been fostered for a few weeks & am now ready for adoption. I'm a 2yr. old,12lb. fox terrier. I love giving kisses sitting on my foster dads lap, playing ball & going for walks. I may be small but I'm tough. I'm good indoors or out but prefer being in when my family is home so I can be close with them. I'm really quiet for a fox terrier & will sometimes talk when I hear strange noises. I'm house trained, crate trained & know how to sit. My foster dad thinks I can add a lb. or 2. If u adopt me I will give you more love than u could ever imagine. My foster dad ... (Read More)will only adopt me to a good home w. a very secure yd. I'm very smart & athletic & know how to slide open sliding doors. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Fox Terrier in Colorado
Fox Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. Fox Terriers have been around for centuries and have been bred to produce a number of different types of dogs. Today, Fox Terrier generally refers to either a Smooth or Wire-haired variety, which are virtually identical with the exception of their coats. Fox Terriers are playful, affectionate, scrappy little dogs. Fox Terriers get along well with children and can typically be socialized to interact well with other dogs, although they have been known to pick fights with much larger canines. Fox Terriers may hunt non-canine pets, especially birds. This breed needs plenty of exercise and should be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard because of its tendency to chase and explore. Fox Terriers can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
