Rescue Me ID: 18-01-08-00200Ivan (male)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ivan is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this tiny dog is with the stunning golden streaks that run through his soft coat. Once he gets a sudsy bath and brushing ...Ivan will absolutely be one of the most adorable guys around. At just about 3.5 years old and a tiny 3 lbs, Ivan is a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere a sweet small dog is welcome. Just grab a carrier bag and Ivan snuggles down and is the perfect companion from his perch from above. Ivan is every bit the young guy...fun and ... (Read More)active. But at the same time he is a happy and well-behaved pup (once he's used to his environment) who is a fun and engaging personality. He's likely to express himself with his wagging tail and excited kisses of love. At this early point in Ivan's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or small canines. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Ivan to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. This would mean spending lots of time together and exposing Ivan to many situations out in the world. We also feel Ivan would be most comfortable with an adult family or one with older, very gentle dog-crazy kids where voices are softer and the energy is calmer. Right now, Ivan is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Ivan is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than being outdoors in the sunshine for a walk, always loving to socialize with kind neighbors. Trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace would be great for Ivan's socialization. Ivan is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Ivan has the beautiful and cottony-soft coat that speaks of both breeds in his mix. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a supplement of salmon oil would be great) to keep his coat cottony-soft, very healthy and matt-free. We're requested that Ivan be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur. If it doesn't...Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Ivan's neuter and microchip if our Denver area vet is used. Ivan is arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 1/13/18. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this adorable ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Ivan, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Fox Terrier in Colorado
Fox Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. Fox Terriers have been around for centuries and have been bred to produce a number of different types of dogs. Today, Fox Terrier generally refers to either a Smooth or Wire-haired variety, which are virtually identical with the exception of their coats. Fox Terriers are playful, affectionate, scrappy little dogs. Fox Terriers get along well with children and can typically be socialized to interact well with other dogs, although they have been known to pick fights with much larger canines. Fox Terriers may hunt non-canine pets, especially birds. This breed needs plenty of exercise and should be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard because of its tendency to chase and explore. Fox Terriers can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
