Rescue Me ID: 16-02-09-00077Snoopy (male)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There are many, many Terrier lovers in the dog world...they're considered to be one of the most desirable of breeds. This is due to their consistently great temperaments and overall intelligence. There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their amazing coats, soft and expressive eyes and stunning masks of brown and gold. Snoopy is an extremely cute Jack Russell/Fox Terrier mix. It's difficult to tell in this sad shelter photo (we've requested a post-shelter photo from Snoopy's foster). Snoopy is 12 - 18 months old and 16 lbs... and did very well (while a bit shy initially) with all the dogs and humans that he was ... (Read More)temperament tested with. He has the ability to overcome his past and appears to be at peace regarding the challenges of his earlier life. The Terrier is a solid combination both physically and in stability of temperament. It is for this reason that they seem to acclimate and be outstanding family members no matter their past lives. It's safe to say that Snoopy has learned to live in harmony with every kind of being...he seems to have derived a true peace from overcoming the trials that he's experienced. We feel strongly that Snoopy's forever family should have the motivation to continue his socialization and offer him the gift of positive reinforcement group obedience training classes. Through these clear boundaries and leadership by his humans, Snoopy will emerge as a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. He's so gorgeous both inside and out and deserves a family that appreciates the gift of his temperament and is willing to show him boundaries through love and time spent. We are searching for an active family...either retirees or families with older, gentle and dog-loving kids. Another like-sized, fun doggie playmate and a fenced yard would be great for Snoopy. He (like all dogs) is happier and therefore more well-behaved if he's fulfilled with exercise and fun followed by snuggling with his favorite people. It would be a family who spend lots of time at home (or chooses to take a sweet dog with them to dog-friendly situations) who would provide a great forever home for Snoopy. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued member of their family. Snoopy will arrive on transport in Boulder on Friday 2/12/16. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted companion and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-05-00309Cole-ADOPTION PENDING (male)

Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Farfel's Rescue was notified by a compassionate rescuer in Texas that a beautiful yet so sad...and sweet as can be... Schnauzer mix was scheduled for euthanasia in just 3 days. The rescuer spoke of this 2.5 - 3 year old, 7 lb pup as a gift of pure love. His expressive eyes pleaded through the bars of the tiny enclosure where he was seeking courage from his cage-mate. Cole was noted as a wonderful companion and lap-dog extraordinaire for retirees or a family with older kids - our rescuer was concerned that very young children would intimidate Cole since he's such a tiny guy. She also described Cole as a great friend to like-sized, ... (Read More)respectful canines...he would enjoy the playing, walks together and hanging out at day's end. Our rescuer heard the reports of Cole's carefully wagging tail that spoke of his desire to trust and bond for life...Farfel's happily accepted Cole into our program. He was removed from the shelter, vetted (perfectly healthy), temperament-tested (passed with flying colors) and brought to a nurturing Texas foster who will reinforce house skills and socialization while he waits for his transport to a new life in Colorado. Farfel's has committed to finding Cole a nurturing and very loving family who will enjoy him for his devotion, sweetness and strong desire to please. Once Cole becomes comfortable in his surroundings, he is a friend that will make you laugh at his antics and want to hold him tight just because he's so incredibly cute! We would also love to see Cole in a home where he becomes a true member of the family. Retirees or individuals who work out of their home would be perfect for this sweet young dog. Cole tends to be a calm pup once bonded who loves nothing more than to settle into his person's lap and stay put with an occasional lick and a wag of delight at his good fortune. He would love walks outdoors in the sunshine and is portable enough to bring along on every dog-friendly adventure. Cole does well in the car and would be overjoyed with riding shotgun. Cole is such a beautiful dog...his photo doesn't do him justice as well as making him look so big. Cole is a tiny guy with a gorgeous face. His coat is stunning...Cole appears to be a lightly-shedding pup and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his gorgeous coal-black coat silky and matt-free. We look forward to updating Cole's photo just as soon as we receive his post-shelter picture. We are very interested in placing Cole with his bonded best friend Pearl (please take a look at her bio). They are truly a case of two being easier than one...they can play and entertain each other for hours but are very receptive to loving and being loved by their family. Definite priority will be give to the special people that will open their hearts to both these wonderful dogs. Cole is being fostered in Boulder. If interested in this very loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Fox Terrier in Colorado
Fox Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. Fox Terriers have been around for centuries and have been bred to produce a number of different types of dogs. Today, Fox Terrier generally refers to either a Smooth or Wire-haired variety, which are virtually identical with the exception of their coats. Fox Terriers are playful, affectionate, scrappy little dogs. Fox Terriers get along well with children and can typically be socialized to interact well with other dogs, although they have been known to pick fights with much larger canines. Fox Terriers may hunt non-canine pets, especially birds. This breed needs plenty of exercise and should be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard because of its tendency to chase and explore. Fox Terriers can live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
